Our Process

At Greyson Builders we focus on clear and upfront communication. The following process outlines how we approach each stage of your project, working closely with you to ensure the final outcome aligns with your vision.

1.Initial brief & site visit

Once you’ve reached out to us, we start by arranging a site visit to understand your goals and desired outcome, along with your budget expectations, timeline and any property/site restrictions.

This may include:

  • Review of existing plans

  • Identification of potential risks, constraints or restrictions

  • Advice on what the best course of action may be

  • Suggestions on how to maximise your budget and/or property

This initial meeting sets the foundation for the project. We can understand what you value the most and ensure the project is realistic and aligned with your budget and values.

2. Provide an estimate or quote

Based on our site visit and discussions, we will provide you with an estimate or quote, depending on the job. At this point we can give you an estimated timeframe to completion.

We will arrange a time to discuss the estimate/quote, giving you the opportunity to voice any questions or concerns.

Project involving building consent & architects:

We will work closely with your architect to ensure you are across the cost implications of the design, ensuring it meets both your design and budget expectations. Architects usually manage the consent process with council, however we will work closely to ensure everything is running as it should ahead of construction.

If there is no architect involvement, we will manage the consent process with council.

3. Confirmation of project & fixed price

Once we’ve discussed the initial estimate or quote and aligned on the scope, timings and plans, we will confirm the fixed price amount and require a deposit to lock in a start date and get your project underway.

4. Procurement & site planning

The final step before starting on site is organising sub-contractors and ordering key materials to ensure the project runs smoothly. We will keep you updated on timelines and outline a clear plan for milestone payments, to keep the project on track.

5. Start on site

Our team manages all aspects of the project onsite including:

  • Site supervision

  • Quality control

  • Coordination of trades and suppliers

  • Programme management

  • Regular communication with you

  • Managing any variations (if required)

6. Project completion

The day has come! This is the most exciting time as a homeowner. We will handle any Code of Compliance Certification, complete final inspections and quality checks, then officially handover the project. Congratulations!
